The Sisters of Providence are discontinuing the Youth Art Contest (YAC), an event held annually since 2006.

The Youth Art Contest began in the spring of 2006 as a way to get children interested and knowledgeable about Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, who was to be canonized that October, and to get them and their families to the Woods.

However, now we are at a new moment. We now have several family-oriented events which draw children and great crowds to the Woods: Earth Day, Family Day at the Woods, Alpaca Farm Days and Christmas Fun at the Woods. Also, we now have the new Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin that continues her legacy and to create an awareness of who Mother Theodore is and was.

The annual Youth Art Contest was a great success and accomplished its purpose. And, as we know, “There is a time for everything …” Thank you for your past support of the event by your prayers and/or presence.

We have truly enjoyed seeing our dear Mother Theodore through the eyes of the youth in the Wabash Valley and we hope we can continue to share her many virtues for years to come.
