  • In January 2008, Sisters Carol Nolan and Loretta Picucci hosted a gathering of Sisters of Providence and Providence Associates at their home, Providence in the Desert, in Indio, Calif. Sisters and associates traveled hundreds of miles for a day of prayer, reflection, friendship and celebration.
  • Providence Associates and Candidate-Associates gathered for the retreat, Providence Mission of Love, Mercy and Justice, April 4-6, 2008, at the Woods.
  • Providence Associates and Candidate-Associates in the Chicago area gathered Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Paddock Lake, Wis. This day was dedicated to reflecting upon making or renewing one’s commitment.

Sisters of Providence

The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, are a congregation of Roman Catholic women religious (sisters) who minister throughout the United States and Taiwan. Saint Mother Theodore Guerin founded the Sisters of Providence in 1840. The congregation has a mission of being God's Providence in the world by committing to performing works of love, mercy and justice in service among God's people.
