- Taught English Conversation in Hsin Tien, Taiwan 1998-2001 (in school of the Missionary Sisters of Providence)
- Sabbatical year 2001-02: study of Spanish at Mexican American Cultural Center in San Antonio (5 months) and in Cuernevaca, Mexico (2 months)
