I was born and raised in Indio, CA (still reside in the city)

Graduated Indio High School 1988, College of the Desert AA – 1990, BA in Liberal Studies from Cal State San Bernardino 1993. Professional Clear, CLAD Teaching Credential completed at Chapman University 1994. MA in Administration from Cal State San Bernardino 2002

Jobs and titles you’ve held, dates in those positions:

Worked in retail as I attended college. Then taught for eight years. I taught one year of Kindergarten and primarily middle school. Later becoming an Assistant Principal for two years and Principal for the past 6 years. I have worked all of my career in the Eastern Coachella Valley.

Other board positions/memberships/awards:

I have served on the Mecca Migrant Community Board. I have been awarded Teacher of the Year Award in 1998. I was also awarded Foster Parent of the year in 2008 (my husband and I are also Foster Parents for Riverside County). I was named Friday Night Live Principal of the Year in 2007. I also serve as the president of the homeowners association in which I live – Palazzo Community.

Hobbies:

Spending time with my kids; my children bring me great joy. I smile just reading stories each night with my children and tucking them in. Adding a foster child just adds one more to love and care for.
