Guerin Outreach Ministries, Inc., a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., provides educational programs and family services to people in need through its three ministry divisions—Educational and Family Services, Providence Family Services and Providence in the Desert.
Together, these ministries provide a variety of services: adult literacy/GED instruction; tutoring for school-age children; English as a Second Language classes, Citizenship classes; music and music instrument classes; computer literacy classes; and bilingual counseling. They support children, individuals and families at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods/West Terre Haute and Terre Haute, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois, and Indio, California.
Established at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana in June of 2008, Guerin Outreach Ministries (GOM) enables its three ministry divisions to share Financial, Human Resources, Public Relations and Marketing services in order to save costs and support fundraising efforts. Seven Sisters of Providence and two lay women minister full time in Guerin Outreach Ministries’ programs serving as directors, program coordinators, teachers, tutors and volunteers.
