Providence Associates Lilia Huang (left) and Rachel Tsha share a toast after Rachel’s wedding.

Our Providence Associates are a busy lot. And they like to share their joy with others. Take, for instance, Providence Associate Rachel Tsha, who, until recently, was a student at Providence University in Shalu, Taiwan. Rachel got married to Francis Nwachukwu on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at St. Francis Church in Macau, China. Rachel is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Francis hails from Nigeria. Francis is an Opus Dei and teaches at Catholic University in Macau. Providence Associate Lilia Huang of Taiwan shared in Rachel’s wedding day bliss.

Across the pond in the United States, several Providence Associates from Southern Indiana gathered at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for a weekend retreat Sept. 14-16. Sister Ann Margaret O’Hara led the retreatants. Providence Associates attending the retreat included Cathy and Ron Keller, Newburgh; Mary Longtine, Evansville; Father Bernie Lutz, Fort Branch; Deanna Ruston, Evansville; Connie Schnapf, Newburgh; and Ann Kevin Thesing, New Albany.

The associates from Southern Indiana arrange several regional gatherings per year. Each fall, the group meets for a retreat at the Woods, which is usually facilitated by a Sister of Providence.
