Providence Associate Ann McDonagh renews her commitment.

A delightful renewal ceremony took place in the chapel of Mother Theodore East on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 13. Providence Associate Ann McDonagh of Carmel, N.Y., is spending a couple of weeks at the Woods volunteering in a variety of ways, and Thursday was the perfect time for her to renew her commitment with a small gathering of sisters and an associate. Ann renewed her commitment for five years.

During her renewal ceremony, Ann shared that she first met the SPs on the coast of Maine in 2006, the year in which Saint Mother Theodore was canonized. Sister Ann Brendan Burget was her companion during her year of candidacy, and the two women have maintained their special relationship.

Ann McDonagh, PA, receives a round of applause after she renews her commitment.

Others who attended the ceremony included Sisters Ann Brendan, Jane Bodine, Barbara Doherty, Edwardine McNulty and Rosalie Marie Weller. Also participating were Sister Diane Mason, director of Providence Associates, and Debbie Dillow, PA, associate director.

Sister Diane said that Ann’s gift is sharing the mission and charism of the Congregation with people who are far away from the Woods. Sister Edwardine noted, “It’s nice to know Mother Theodore speaks beyond Indiana!”
